Computer Maintenance

Students will learn about PC components and their functions using a real computer system. Students will install, configure, upgrade, optimize, diagnose, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair personal computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Students will build new computer systems for use in the classroom along with accepting used or damaged computers for repair and/or upgrade. The donated computers will be given to low-income students and families along with technical support from the students in the class. This course will also prepare the students for taking the CompTIA A+ certification exam.
